Rava Seat pad and Cleaning kit

As you may have heard, there has been a recall of Nuna Rava child car seats in the U.S.A. We are writing to inform you that we are aware of the situation, and here is what we know so far. If circumstances change, we will provide new information.

Firstly, the recall of Nuna Rava child car seats in the U.S.A. does not affect those sold in Canada. Canadian Rava child car seats continue to comply with the Motor Vehicle Restraint Systems and Booster Seats Safety Regulations SOR/2010-90 without issue.

The recall in the U.S.A. has been issued due to potential safety concerns when the front adjuster locking mechanism becomes clogged with food or debris. If food or debris lodges in the mechanism, it can prevent the mechanism from closing properly, loosening the harness. A loose harness may not properly restrain the child, which can be unsafe. To be clear, the locking mechanism and harness are perfectly safe and continue to meet all safety regulations when there is no food or debris stuck in locking mechanism.

To help prevent this, caregivers should verify that the harness is properly tightened by pulling on the harness straps every time the child is placed in the car seat. If the straps loosen slightly, food or debris may be lodged in the locking mechanism, preventing it from clamping properly and should be cleaned. To be clear, when pulled, the straps should not move at all.
